Axean Music Festival 2026
I was invited to create animated visuals for the 2026 AXEAN Music Festival, a prominent Southeast Asian music export platform that brings together a music conference and showcase festival.
My animations were used for projection mapping across the festival, creating playful and dynamic background visuals for the opening party and live music areas.
Used as background visuals for AXEAN’s opening party, I created a series of hand-drawn animations combining esoteric imagery with playful, comical elements. The animations were designed to loop seamlessly and move with the beats and rhythms of the different genres of music played throughout the night.
For the duration of the festival, I created a series of hand-drawn animations that brought the Barong sculpture to life.
The sculpture acted as a centrepiece at the entrance to one of the live performance stages, with my animations projected directly onto it. I created three whimsical animated sequences: Barong in Love, Barong as the Sun, and Barong as a King.
I also took part in a live-drawing element, where we digitally drew directly onto the Barong in real time, adding a playful visual layer to the projection mapping.
